Chandigarh 19th January:- Excise & Taxation Department, Chandigarh Administration organized a Seminar on "GST: Overview and Challenges" at Hotel Mount View, Chandigarh today. V.P. Singh Badnore, Governor of Punjab and Administrator, U.T, Chandigarh was the chief guest on the occasion. Kirron Kher, Member of Parliament, Chandigarh, Parimal Rai, Adviser to the Administrator, Sarvjit Singh, Finance Secretary-cum-Secretary Excise & Taxation, Ajit Balaji Joshi, Excise & Taxation Commissioner and Rakesh Kumar Popli, Additional Excise & Taxation Commissioner were also present during the occasion.
Rajan Datt, Joint Commissioner, Central Excise; Ravneet Khurana, Deputy Commissioner (GST), CBEC, New Delhi and Ajay Jagga were the keynote speakers who threw ample light on the various parameters of GST.
The seminar was attended by various Trade Associations of the Chandigarh like Beopar Mandal, Industry Association, Grain Market Association, Marble Market Association, Chamber of Commerce and others.
Raman Datt, Joint Commissioner, Ravneet Khurana Commissioner (GST) and Ajay Jagga, Advocate gave overview on the challenges on GST and also replied the queries raised by the different Trade Associations. Out of 16,500 registered dealers 12,000 have already being registered themselves on the GSTN Portal successfully.
