Shahwar Ali Inspired by Big B and Kishore Da for His Look in Amma

Chandigarh 28th June:- Renowned model & actor Shahwar Ali, who is making his fiction television debut with Zee TV's 'Ek Maa Jo Laakhon Ke Liye Bani Amma' has left no stone unturned in ensuring that he is extremely convincing as his character Parvez , an upright lawyer from the 60's. The actor has been working on the minutest details to make his look as perfect as possible. Keeping in mind that the show is set in the post partition era, the suave actor has styled his look on the trademark styles of Bollywood stalwarts-Kishore Kumar & Amitabh Bachchan. 

Shahwar shared that off screen, Kishore Kumar used to wear square rimmed glasses which he incorporated in his look as Parvez in the show, however, it is rare to find those kinds of glasses and he got them especially from Hyderabad. He had also tried to copy his hairstyle, but the side locks have been inspired from Amitabh Bachchan. Along with that he had a discussion with the creative team about the costumes to bring out the authenticity of that era without going over the top as getting the look right is like half the battle won. He is thoroughly enjoying sporting the classic bell bottoms, chequered shirts  & formal suits. He is sure that it will definitely transport the viewers to that era.

Shahwar added that he is all the more excited, as after a long time he is getting to portray a positive character as Parvez – an upright lawyer who helps Zeenat fight for her rights. The actor who has been part of several South & Hindi films, said that he don't find much difference between shooting for a film and fiction show, what matters is the script and his character and that's the reason he chose to do this show.

Produced by Salt Media LLP, the show marks the television debut of film actor Urvashi Sharma (Raina Joshi) essaying the author -backed title role. Seen for the very first time in a de-glam avatar, the actor has gone to great lengths to prepare for the role. The show also boasts of an ensemble star cast with stalwarts like Aman Verma in a never-before-seen avatar of a South Indian don Shekhran Shetty, film actor Nawab Shah makes a comeback to television as Haider, a dreaded underworld don who believes in action rather than words. Noted for his hard-hitting performances, Deepraj Rana will be seen as Kabeer Lal, a shrewd and strategic, power-hungry don from the Middle East. The renowned Nasir Khan Walker makes a comeback as Abas Shaikh, Zeenat's husband who deserts her in the course of partition. Also seen in the show are Sonali Singh, a Mumbai-based politician making her first appearance on a TV show as Haider's wife Fatima and Jeetu Verma as a corrupt cop Inspector Prajapati whose atrocities ignite the spark of rebellion inside Zeenat.

The show is being shot at Ramoji Film City, Hyderbabad on a film camera in a film format to give the show the canvas and scale of a larger-than-life blockbuster. Not only are the actors of the show closely associated with films but even its technical crew and creative team have strong film backgrounds. The multi-layered sets that depict five distinct decades have been designed by art director Tariq Khan noted for his work in 'Gangs of Wasseypur'. The costumes, jewelry and other accessories have been designed and created in-house by stylist Ajay Kumar who has worked across opulent dramas like 'Ram Leela', 'Bajirao Mastaani' and 'Phantom'. The dialogue for the show is penned by Aloke Upadhya who has assisted the direction of Salman Khan films like Dabangg 2, Partner and Jai Ho. The talented Kingshuk Chakravrthi is credited with the show's impactful music and background score.
