Chandigarh 22nd June:- Mukhyamantri Teerath Darshan Yatra started by Punjab Govt. is a unique & appreciable effort which will help in integrating the state and strengthening the social bonds among public. This was stated by Member Lok Sabha Prof. Prem Singh Chandumajra while addressing the press after waiving off the green flag to the special chartered train started under Mukhyamantri Teerath Darshan Yatra Yojna from SAS Nagar Railway Station to Sri Hajoor Sahib.
Prof. Chandumajra said that today is a remarkable day in the history of SAS Nagar constituency, when a special chartered train carrying 1000 pilgrims has started their pilgrimage to Sri Hajoor Sahib from here. During this he also wished the pilgrims for their journey. Appreciating the efforts of Punjab Govt. for Teerath Darshan Yatra Yojna, he said that under this scheme special trains have been started to take pilgrims to various pilgrimages and the entire expenditure thus incurred is being borne by the State Govt. He said that under this scheme Teerath Yatra to Sri Hajoor Sahib, Kaashi (Varanasi), Mata Vaishno Devi, Salasar Dham & Dargah Sri Ajmer Sharif are being done. Addressing the press he said that in view of public demand a special train to Sri Patna Sahib will be started from SAS Nagar. He further said that the work for up-gradation and renovation of railway stations at Anandpur Sahib & SAS Nagar will be carried out very soon.
During this while addressing the press Charanjit Singh Brar OSD to Dy. CM Punjab said that Mukhyamantri Teerath Darshan Yatra Yojna started by Punjab Govt. is a result of positive frame work and great vision of CM Punjab.
During the occassion Deputy Commissioner D.S.Mangat said that proper arrangements for providing langar & food packets and for the accommodation of pilgrims have been done by the Punjab Govt. Besides this a medical team has also been provided to facilitate the pilgrims.
A huge excitement was noticed among the pilgrims for the journey. The train from SAS Nagar Railway Station started with huge acclamation of "Bole Sau Nihaal". One of the pilgrims, a resident of Landran Satnam Singh Nambardar appreciated the effort by Punjab Govt. and said that now persons from economic weaker section will be able to go for pilgrimage.
