75% of Corporate Women Suffer from Lifestyle Ailments;Expert

Chandigarh 07th May:- To mark Mothers' Day, Max Super Specialty Hospital, Mohali organized a health awareness talks, talent show and interactive sessions at a Sector 43 hotel here today , which was attended by around 100 mothers from tricity.

The show was inaugurated by chief guest, Dr Vanita Gupta Director Health Services UT . While speaking during occasion, she emphasized on the changing role and health needs of mothers in the society.

During occasion, Sandeep Dogra Vice President, Max Hospital Mohali announced that an antenatal workshop is being organized on May 15th for expecting parents to educate them regarding healthy and safe motherhood.  

Dr Seema Sharma Associate Director-Obstetrics and Gynecology at Max Hospital highlighted that the various lifestyle measures mothers and working women should undertake so as to enjoy a healthy and stress free life. She discussed that 75% of corporate women suffered from lifestyle ailments including obesity, chronic backache, anxiety ,depression according to a survey conducted in metropolitan cities in 2800 women. So it's high time that women take charge of their health and make lifestyle changes.

Role of exercise and healthy diet in preventing disease influenced by sedentary lifestyle and obesity was also highlighted during show. Women were educated to be responsible for their health through breast and cervical cancer screening.

Shivani Gulati, Clinical Nutritionist discussed about weight reduction through a healthy diet. Anmol Sandhu, winner of Woman of Substance award -2015 inspired the mothers by her motivational talk. Rinku Malik, choreographer and Director Rhythm Dance Academy and Anju Sharma, winner of Max Mom Contest enchanted the audience with their dance performances.
