PGI to organize International Advanced Immunology from 17th to 19th March

Chandigarh 15th March:-The Molecular Immunology Group, Department of Immunopathology, PGI, Chandigarh is organizing an International Advanced Immunology from 17th to 19th March. The course is being held under the joint aegis of Federation of Immunological societies of Asia-Oceania (FIMSA) and Indian Immunology Society (IIS). This course is held every other year and keep travelling among different countries of Asia-Oceania region and is happening in India only third time, but first time in Chandigarh. FIMSA is a scientific body which facilitates the scientific interactions between younger members of its societies with experienced faculty and promotes the discipline of Immunology by providing organizational expertise through such advanced training courses focused on various aspects of Immunology. These advanced courses are generally designed to cater the scientific learning need of post-graduate students in the late stages of their PhD and MD or early career scientists who have chosen Immunology or relevant field for pursuing their scientific research. This focus of this year's course is"Basic and Clinical Immunology" which will be most appropriate for the clinicians working in PGI and other institutions in Chandigarh, because the Immunology has become integral part of clinical medicine and all novel therapeutics is based on the immunological mechanisms during the disease. Looking at the interesting curriculum designed for the course, the Punjab Medical Council has awarded '10 credit hours' to the course, which will be beneficial to the participants during their future endeavours.

The Course Program will be comprised of plenary sessions, keynote lectures, tutorials, group discussions, brain-storming sessions and poster presentation for chosen abstracts. Leading academicians and researchers in the field of Immunology are the invited faculty of this course. Brain storming and knowledge sharing sessions from India and other countries like Japan, USA, Australia, China and Singapore will provide stimulating environment for updating the advancements in the field of Immunology as well as research promotion and will help younger and budding researchers in shaping their future research career.

According to Professor Sunil Arora, Course-Director, more than 150 delegates have registered for the Course, which include the clinicians, students as well as basic scientists from various states of India as well as abroad.
