Categorical Course Series on Neuroradiology and Head and Neck Imaging Concludes

Chandigarh 28th March:- The categorical course series on Neuroradiology and Head and Neck Imaging concluded today at PGIMER, Chandigarh. This course was organized by the department of Radiodiagnosis and Imaging, PGI, Chandigarh in collaboration with the American College of Radiology (ACR) and American Institute for Radiologic Pathology (AIRP). This course was held under the able guidance of Prof. N. Khandelwal, Head, Department of Radiodiagnosis and Imaging as the course director and Dr. Akshay Kumar Saxena and Dr. Kushaljit Singh Sodhi as the course co-directors.

The faculty for the course included eminent national and international experts including Prof. Sanjiv Sharma, Head, Department of Cardiac Radiology, AIIMS, New Delhi, Dr. Kelly Koeller, Chief, Neuroradiology, Mayo Clinic, USA and Dr. Wendy Smoker, Professor Emeritus, University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, USA. 

Dr. Koeller elaborated on the imaging features of brain tumors and infectious diseases of the brain. Dr. Smoker spoke about the imaging features of tumors and infectious diseases of the spine.

Lectures, interactive and interesting case sessions and quizzes were conducted for the student delegates. Residents and fellows were encouraged to analyze the pathology of different disease processes and then correlate them with the imaging findings. About 200 practicing radiologists and physicians along with student delegates from all over the country attended this educational feast. The conference ended with Dr. Khandelwal announcing the winners of the quiz and giving away the prizes.
