PGI Former Surgery Head Gets National Award

Chandigarh 25^th January:-  Dr.S.M.Bose, Former Senior Professor and Head of Surgery, PGI, Chandigarh,has been awarded the National Award for Outstanding efforts in Science and Technology Communication by Department of Science & Technology , Govt. of India. The award will be presented in Delhi on the Science Day . Prof. Bose has done a commendable job in the health education of people, his book Cancer, available in 7 regional languages has seen multiple editions and reprints. He has written about 130 articles in news papers, magazines and electronic media and these print media communications have been very popular with the readers. The Cancer awareness audio-video lectures by Dr. Bose in schools, colleges, clubs, and association meetings have been quite educative and instructive. Dr.S.M.Bose has earlier received a large number of prestigious awards including two Dr.B.C.Roy National awards, Pandalai Award- the highest award by Assocn of Surgeons of India, and awards by Surgical Societies and Associations.
