Chandigarh 24th November:- Lawrence Senior Secondary school, Mohali celebrated the Prakash Utsav of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji with great religious fervour. The day was marked with religious fervour and the school was aptly decorated. The students sang religious hymns from the holy Guru Granth Sahib in the campus. On this day, the students were reminded anew of the message of sanctity, faith, trust, honesty, karam and kirit, which forms the core of Guru Nanak's message to the world. The students gave speeches & recited poems from the life history of Guru Nanak Devji . Besides, Gatka was staged by the students at the moment.
While speaking on the occasion Principal Veena Malhotra explained the three main teachings of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji ( Kirat Karo, Vand Chako and Naam Japo)and explain the children that this way is preached by the "Gurus" which is helpful for young generation to eliminate the vices of the world. She further urged the students to commit themselves to the spirit of equality and compassion.
