Chandigarh 05th November:- National Programme for Prevention and Control of Cancer, Diabetes, CVDs and Strokes (NPCDCS) proposes to organize an exhibition cum screening camp at CH-22, Chandigarh in collaboration with Radiotherapy unit, PGI on 7th November, 2015 from 9:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. This day will be used as an opportunity for creating awareness about Cancer, its signs and symptoms, timely detection and its management. People are requested to visit Exhibition on Cancer Awareness organized by NPCDCS, UT, Chandigarh and Radiotherapy department, PGI at CHC 22. Mobile Asha Jyoti Van with facility of Mammography and Colposcopy unit for screening Breast and Cervical cancer will also be available. Various IEC materials in form of Posters, banners, pamphlets, leaflets will be displayed and distributed to public at the Exhibition. Experts from PGI will be available for consultation regarding Cancer, significance of its early detection, treatment and further management.
All are requested to visit Exhibition on Cancer Awareness and health care providers are requested to give health talks at their respective health facilities about Cancer, associated risk factors, signs & symptoms, significance of its timely detection, referral and management to community.
As per official orders of MS, GMSH-16 the facilities for screening test for Cervical Cancer i.e. PAP smear will now be available free of cost at all health facilities at GMSH-16 and its allied dispensaries including Civil hospital Manimajra,CH-22 and Poly clinic-45.
