CGC Jhanjeri Student Shines in PTU’s Weightlifting Tournaments

Chandigarh 23^rd November:- Deepanshu Amla, an Electronics & Communication Engineering student of Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Jhanjeri brought laurels to this college by winning Silver medal in PTU's Inter College Weightlifting and Power lifting Tournaments. In this tournament about ten teams from different colleges of Punjab participated. Mr. Amla won this honour in 120kg weight category by lifting 190kg in Squat, 150kg in Bench Press and 200kg in Dead lift, making a total lift of 540 kg.

Speaking on the occasion, Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, President CGC said that apart from academics, CGC Jhanjeri gives special attention to sports & cultural activities. The students of this college have already won a number of medals & prizes in other sports also. In fact, Jasmeen, a student of this college has been awarded by PTU for being PTU's best player of Table Tennis. 

Dr. G.D Bansal, Director General CGC said that for a successful career, overall personality growth of a student is essential. Such achievements prove inspirational & high morale boosters for others.
