AIHM Celebrates SPARK-2015:organize Series of Competitions

Chandigarh 23^rd October:- Dr. Ambedkar Institute of Hotel Management, a premier Hotel Management Institute under Ministry of Tourism, Govt. of India, along with the AAAIHM (Alumni Association of Ambedkar Institute of Hotel Management) is celebrating SPARK-2015, comprising of various events and competitions on the occasion of its Silver Jubilee year. Today, a series of competitions were organised in the Institute for all the students which involved a wide range of talent and creativity. There was a high spiritedness and zeal amongst the participants as they showcased their skills and knowledge.

The day started with the Best out of Waste competition where 14 students presented their talent and skills, converting waste material into the useful ones such as Pen Stands, Jewellery Stands Toy Rocket, etc. The winners of the event were as follows:

1^st Position – Aniket Rajak

2^nd Position – Rydham Jamwal

3^rd Position – Kaushik Arora & Vansha Singh

Consolation Prize – Manik Gupta

The second event was the Innovative Dish Competition, participants included 27 students. They were asked to prepare an innovative dish (2 Portions) of Starter, Main Course or Dessert. Some of the delicacies prepared were Chicken Roulade with White Wine Sauce, The Unorthodox Lasagna, Paste Que Tartar Salad etc.  The winners of the event were as follows:

1^st Position – Mayank Kannoji

2^nd Position – Rishab Suri

3^rd Position – Atul Shenoy & Alok

The day progressed with the Mocktail Competition where the students had to prepare an innovative non-alcoholic beverage using the principles of mixology. A total of 18 students participated in the event. The eye appealing mocktails prepared by the participants were judged by industry experts on various aspects like taste, presentation, appearance etc. Mocktails such as Monk Berry, Devils Indulgence, Shaan-E-Bahaar were displayed. All the participants had put in their best efforts and were appreciated by the judges as well as the faculty members of the institute. The winners were as follows:

1^st Position – Rajat Luthra

2^nd Position – Rohan Kohli

3^rd Position – Somya Khurana & Rishab Sharma

The second half started with the Advertisement Competition where students discussed their innovative ideas to market their hotels through power point presentation. The students were supposed to advertise a 3-Star hotel attached to the educational institute. The winners were as follows:

1^st Position – Sushant Sharma & Vikrant Dhingra

2^nd Position – Parth Bhatia & Rishan Om Singla

3^rd Position –   Rohit & Sanwar

The series of competition ended with much awaited, intellectual and extremely knowledgeable Quiz Competition where 4 teams comprising of 2 participants each took part.

Mrs. Bharti Tyagi, Principal of the Institute said that on the occasion of Silver Jubilee celebrations, I thank the alumni team and faculty members who have successfully organised the event today. I also congratulate the winners and believe that these students will shine and make their mark in the competitive professional world. Such events help the students to showcase their talent, creativity and skills which they have acquired with their hard work and dedication during the years in the institute.
