Mission Indradhanush:A Special Drive to Cover Unvaccinated & Partially Vaccinated Children/Pregnant Women

Chandigarh 24^th September:- A meeting was held under the chairmanship of Anurag Agarwal, Health-cum Home Secretary, U.T Chandigarh regarding Mission Indradhanush. Mission Indradhanush is a special drive to cover unvaccinated and partially vaccinated children and pregnant women. Chandigarh has evaluated coverage of 87% immunization in 0-2 Year age group children & this mission Indradhanush will cover the remaining 13% percent children who have escaped the routine immunization. There will be 4 rounds, starting from 7^th October 2015 to 7^th January 2016 & the Duration of each round will be upto 7 days. Targeted beneficiaries will be children in 0-2 year's age group & pregnant women. The stress will be to improve the coverage in High risk areas including slums with migration, nomadic sites & other hard-to-reach populations. This meeting was attended by various dignitaries including Medical Superintendent GMSH-16 Dr. Vandana Gupta, Deputy Medical superintendent Dr. G. Dewan,Disrict Immunization Officer Dr. Anu Chopra Dosajh, Nodal Officer,Dr. Sangeeta Ajay,Programme Officer Dr. Manju Behl, Dr. Shivani,S.M.O(NPSP-WHO Network, Dr. Vishal Guglani & Dr. N.K Goel, from GMCH-32.There was active participation from Indian Academy of Pediatrics  & pediatrician from different Government Institutions.
