Direct Benefit Transfer Scheme Launched for Food Grains

Chandigarh 26th September:- The Department of Food & Supplies and Consumer Affairs & Legal Metrology, U. T., Chandigarh has launched the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) Scheme for foodgrains from the month of September, 2015.   The subsidy amount for the month of September, 2015 has been released to the eligible households through their aadhar seeded bank accounts, as per their entitlements.  The subsequent addition in the number of eligible households, for the month of October, 2015 and onwards will be forwarded to Government of India for transfer of subsidy amount in their respective bank accounts, on monthly basis. The distribution of food grains for the month of August, 2015 has been delayed due to some administrative reasons and implementation of DBT.  Therefore, all the beneficiaries/ Households are hereby informed to get their food grains for the month of August, 2015 from their respective fair price shops up to 28th September, 2015 and after that no claim for food grains will be entertained.
