PGI Holds 8th I.J. Dewan Memorial Educational Workshop

Chandigarh 22^nd July:- First day of the two day 8^th I.J. Dewan Memorial Educational Workshop entitled "Organs Talk - Time to take Prevention" was conducted by the Department of Anatomy, PGIMER, Chandigarh on 22^nd July, 2015. It was attended by students from the Government school sector 24, St. Xavier school sector 44 C, Shivalik public school Sector 41, Chandigarh, Little angel School, Ambala & Dr. Arvind's biology classes. About 350 students participated in the workshop. The workshop was inaugurated by the students of Government school sector 24 by lighting the lamp. The students were made aware about the serious consequences of antibiotic abuse, drinking alcohol, smoking, having trans fats, excessive use of mobile phones and driving without helmet. Plants were distributed to the children to promote afforestation.  Refreshments to the students were sponsored by the Rotary Club of Chandigarh. After attending the demonstrations and viewing the actual diseased organs, many children pledged that they will quit junk food, misuse of mobile phones and antibiotics.
