Chandigarh police Solv Case of Robbery of Rs.7 Lac:Arrest 3 Persons

Chandigarh 05th May:- The Chandigarh police achieved a major success by solving a case of robbery of Rs.7 lac which took place on 28th of April this year near press light point Sec.8, Chandigarh with the arrest of three alleged persons namely Ajay Kumar, Raju, Rakesh @ Ricky and apprehension of a Juvenile and recovery of Rs. 5 lac from their possession.

While giving brief detail of the case the SSP of Chandigarh Police DR. Sukhchain Singh said that on 28th of April the victim Nishant Kothari of Pritam Pura Delhi reported that he is a dealer of spare parts of Motor Vehicles in Delhi and has dealing in Chandigarh as well. In the morning of 28th of April he had come to Chandigarh regarding his business with his uncle who runs spare parts business in the name of Parkash Auto Traders in Motor Market, Manimajra. After settling the account he collected Rs. 7 Lac from U.N Sharma Proprietor of the above firm and left for ISBT Sector-17 at around 5.35 pm in an Auto.  When the auto reached the press light point, it stopped at the red light in the mean time a person came from behind, attacked him and snatched his bag containing Rs. 7 lac and some important documents. In this regard a case was duly registered in Police Station Sec.3, Chandigarh.

SSP further said that to solve the case a joint team of Police Station Sector-3 and Crime Branch was constituted. Acting upon specific information the alleged persons namely Ajay Kumar resident of New Indra Colony, Manimajra, Raju resident of Old Indra Colony, Manimajra, (both arrested from Muzaffar Nagar, UP) and Rakesh @ Ricky of Jhuggian Indira colony, Manimajra involved in this crime has been arrested from Manimajra, Chandigarh. While the 4th alleged person, a juvenile has been apprehended.

SSP DR. Sukhchain Singh added that main motive behind the loot that Rakesh @ Ricky and Juvenile are the master minds and hatched the conspiracy wherein the juvenile had told him about a person who comes to collect cash at the shop where he works. This money could be used to fulfil their desires to get rich quickly.  He has been the employee of Uma Nand Sharma at his shop at Motor Market, Manimajra, Chandigarh. He knew that whenever the victim Nishant came from Delhi he would collect money here and take it back to Delhi. On that day the same happened and he alerted his friends Rakesh @ Ricky, Raju and Ajay. The trio followed the victim from the Motor Market, Manimajra on a motor cycle and committed the offence at Press Light Point, Chandigarh and fled the scene with the robbed money. Later they met the same evening distributed the robbed money among themselves and went underground.

SSP informed that the case has been solved out. The further investigation is going on in the case.
