Chandigarh 06th April:- ZaPalooza —a groovy fashion, arts & music festival for fashionistas, art buffs and music lovers held at Chandigarh's hippest mall—Elante, The Courtyard. Conceptualized & organized by Chandigarh-based IndieIcons Media (www.indieicons.com) and Mumbai-based Windmills, Zapalooza, Chandigarh Edition is a quirky & fun, yet scaled-up version of pop-up bazaars. Celebrating India's burgeoning creativity in arts & design, ZaPalooza is a 2-day arts, music and fashion flee-cum-fest, with 40+ stalls— selling off-beat apparel, accessories, home décor and lifestyle products by quirky brands like Item Number, Indricka, Air Castle, Pillow2Pillow, Poppadum Art, Dhaaga Handcrafts, Saurabh Kant Srivastava, Swag, Lacquer Embassy and Tjori Handcrafts from Mumbai, Bangalore, Kolkatta and Delhi! Also, there are design houses Dazzling Bling, Anoop Apparels and Audarya Couture from the region. Anandita Gupta, CEO & Founder of www.indieicons.com, said that ZaPalooza is a platform for artists & designers doing fun, cutesy or out-of-the-box stuff. Or youngsters who may not have branded shops & may be selling through Facebook or websites. Both these young ladies belong to Chandigarh & feel the city needs to experience something like this. Inshaa and Anandita, who plan to hold ZaPalooza, every few months at Chandigarh added that while the flea market scene is scorching up everywhere, we found the lack of inspiring things to do in Chandigarh. Popular Rock bands Bridge Music Academy ENSEMBLE by Jazz pianist Nipun Cheema; Just Ittefaaq by Jasleen Aulakh; Beyond Jade; Spring Time Slaughter;The Pacemakers; Blame the Monkey; MOA and Project 25th Hour enthralled the audiences with their captivating performances. The fest also had working going on for the art, cookery and dance lovers. Shoe-stylizing by fashion footwear designer Swatimodo; Flair Bartending by Flair Mania Bartending and Fun cooking workshops by Chef Suchint at Mocha, Elante Courtyard was a bonus for the visitors in addition to all the fun.
