Chandigarh 21st April:- The Pracheen Kala Kendra was organized a special musical programme "Rituraas" . The musical programme featured the students of the eminent Kathak danseuse Dr. Samira Koser. The venue Tagore Theatre reverberated with the melodic sound of tinkling sound of ghungroos as nearly 60 students ranging in age from 4 to 40 presented the technical aspect of Kathak through Taal Malika and showcase the interplay of different seasons through twists and turns of classical rhythms Rituraas. Cultural extravaganza was inaugurated by Hon'ble Pawan Kumar Bansal, Former Hon'ble Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs and Water Resources, Government of India, by lighting a traditional lamp and Kendra Registrar Dr. Shobha Koser, Secretary Sajal Koser and other respected Board members of the Kendra.
The programme, which had total twenty one presentations, began with customary invocatory piece Vandana, the prayer of Lord Ganesha "Pratham sumiran Shri Ganesha". This was set to jhap taal. The second piece is taal mailka split into many groups and the students performed fundamental syllables of Kathak like aamad, thaat, paran, chakradar paran, gat, tode, tukre, kavits, footwork with quite ease and confidence. This item was set to teen taal(16 mataras).
Different seasons presented in pure Kathak, it is just a wonderful concept and students of Dr. Samira beautifully presented importance , characteristics and portrays different ritus in Kathak dance. In Taal malika there were presentations in different matras were woven into a mala. Electrifying display of crisp taal malika in teen taal, Students presented the hotness of summer and its affect on surroundings. After the summer how we eagerly wait for rainy season and how it makes our life pleasant and calm, all this was gracefully presented by these students. The crisp playing between rain drops and clouds and aayi barkha ritu aayi and ghir ghir amidst thunderous applause. The programme continued with varsha composition presented by senior students of Dr. Samira enthralls the audience.
