Chandigarh Police Arrest 2 Accused:Achieve Success to Work out the Cases of Snatching

Chandigarh 25^th April:- Chandigarh Police achieved success to work out the cases of snatching by the team headed by Sub Inspector Ranjeet Singh, Incharge Police Post Dhanas Chandigarh under the supervision of Sukhraj Kateva, SDPO Central Division and Insp. Ranjit Singh Dhillon SHO PS -11 by arresting the accused Kamal Thakur of Vill Mullanpur Garibdas, Distt Mohali and Harpreet Singh also resident of Vill Mullanpur Garibdas, Near Gurudwara, Distt Mohali (Pb).

According to the SSP Sukhchain Singh Gill that on 20^th of April a case FIR No 175 dated u/s 356,379 IPC was registered PS -11, Chd, on the complaint of Mrs. Manjit Kaur of Milk Colony, Dhanas Chandigarh, who reported that on 20^th April, she was returning to her home from market Dhanas. At about 1:00 P.M she reached near H. No. 44 Milk Colony Dhanas, Chandigarh and in the meantime two unknown youth came on one black Pulsar M/Cycle and pillion rider snatched her gold neck chain and fled away. In this case, on dated 20^th April the above said accused persons have been arrested near jungle area Sarangpur on the secret information. On 25^th April both accused produced in the Hon'ble Court and four days police remand obtained. During investigation snatched chain has been recovered. During the interrogation in above said case both of accused Kamal Thakur and Harpreet Singh disclosed that they have committed snatchings in different places in Chandigarh i.e Khuda Jassu, Khuda Lahora, Dhanas, Dadu Majra, Sec 14, Sec 15, Sec 22, Sec 23 etc. and about 11 gold Chains have been snatched. In this regard various cases have also been registered in Police station 11, Police Station 17 and Police Station 39 Chandigarh.

Apart from this it has been also found that various cases of theft, burglary robbery and Arms Act were registered in different police stations of Himachal Pardesh against accused Kamal Thakur who is declared Proclaimed Offender in said cases. The following cases are registered in Police Stations of Himachal Pardesh.

On dated 21^st January, 2013 accused Kamal Thakur was also absconded from Himachal Pardesh police custody near Fun Republic, Mani Majra, Chandigarh after pushing down ASI Manohar Lal (Himachal Police) during investigation of case FIR No 7 dated 07.01.2013, u/s 382 IPC registered at PS Dhali Distt Shimla (HP). In this regard a case FIR No 33 dated 21.01.2013 u/s 224 IPC at PS Mani Majra has also been registered. Accused Kamal Thakur is very Sharp minded criminal. During investigation it has been found that accused Kamal Thakur along with his wife use to taken a room on rent and after winning the confidence of the house owner family, burglaries and robbery committed in their houses. Some time sleeping pills were mixed their meals for committed burglary and robbery. In one of the case accused Kamal Thakur also burgled all the jewelry and cash in lacs of house owner which was kept in the house for the pupose of her daughter marriage. One of the burglaries also committed by accused Kamal Thakur to celebrate his own birthday and birth day cake was served by him to the house owner family with the mixing of sleeping pills in the cake.

Kullu Police has been also declared wanted criminal to accused Kamal Thakur alongwith the cash reward RS -10,000/- for his information to the informatory person.
