All Facilities To Be in Place for Devotees Thronging Baisakhi Mela:Deputy Commissioner Bhatinda

Chandigarh 08th April:- Convening a review meeting of arrangements for the Baisakhi Mela at the hall of Sri Dasmesh Senior Secondary School Talwandi Sabo, Deputy Commissioner Bathinda Dr Basant Garg today said that devotees to the Baisakhi Mela, scheduled to be held at Takht Sri Damdama Sahib in Talwandi Sabo, would be provided all kinds of facilities and efforts would be made to ensure that people do not face any problem. He directed the officers to ensure that they conduct their duties diligently and ensure that the Mela culminates peacefully. The officers were directed to ensure that adequate arrangements are done for cleanliness, providing drinking water and proper first aid help at the mela site.Dr Basant Garg said that the Mela would be held from April 12 to April 15 wherein a large number of devotees are expected to reach. Officers were directed to divide mela site into sectors and prepare a map and no stone should be left unturned to ensure smooth flow of traffic, parking and security arrangements. He added that all arrangements should be in place for control room, rescue camp, toilets, temporary bus stands, inns, bus services, uninterrupted power supply, patrolling vans and others. He also directed that the roundabouts be decorated and lackadaisical approach in maintain cleanliness would not be tolerated. Deputy Commissioner said that the devotees would start reaching Talwandi Sabo by April 10. Departments were directed to set up medical first aid post and help center. He also talked to the organizers of Takht Sri Damdama Sahib and paid obeisance at the Gurudwara.
