Chandigarh 20th March:- On the third day of visit Dr Lucy Robertson, Professor and Head of Laboratory of Parasitology, Norwegian university of Life sciences, Norway discussed the status of the "ZOOPA" project. The project "ZOOPA" is an initiative towards a combined focus for research and education on One Health and One Planet. The main goal is to develop a cohort of medical researchers with an understanding of veterinary perspectives, and to develop veterinary researchers with an understanding of human medicine perspectives. Such "One Health" researchers will be well-positioned to address the recognized threat of emerging zoonotic parasitoses. Two workshops for the researchers have been planned one in Norway and the other one in PGIMER. Chandigarh, India.The work shop in Norway will train research scholars in various techniques for the detection of parasites contaminating the water and food. Theworkshop in India will focus on the important methods, both conventional and molecular used in the diagnosis of human parasitic infections. These workshops are open to the research scholars from Norway and India. Dr. Lucy Robertsonhad an interactive session with students from within and outside PGIMER. She gave these budding scientists various suggestions for an interesting career and the possibilities of pursuing research in Norway.
