Chandigarh 22nd December:- Bhartiya janta Yuva Morcha Chandigarh organised a programme "Atulya Atal" to commemorate the birth anniversary of  Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee at Law Bhawan and requested Prime Minister Narendra Modi  to honour him with Bharat Ratna as he deserves this honour which is a long overdue. Ex CM Himachal Prem Kumar Dhumal and Lal Ji Tondon, former minister and Ex CM Lucknow were present as Chief Guests.

Prem Kumar Dhumal said that  Atal Vajpayee was admired by his supporters for his oratory. Even Jawaharlal Nehru had a very high opinion of him. The Sangh Parivaar saw him as a saffron answer to Nehru. Like Nehru, he was idealist to the core, open- minded, accommodating and a democrat in the true sense. It was because of his charisma that he could lead a coalition of more than two dozens of political parties in 1998. It was not a mean achievement for a man whose party had always been treated by others as untouchable.

Balramji Das Tondon said that Vajpayee transcended the BJP and its ideology and through him, the party and the Sangh Parivaar became acceptable. Advani could never emerge from the shadow of the Atal ji. He was the darling of the Hindutva forces but his acceptability was limited. Atal ji, as called by many is a tall figure in Indian politics and mesmerised one and all with his oratory skills. He is a clean person in our dirty Indian politics. It would have been so difficult for him to stick to his identity inspite of being in a party of hardliners. Its a well known perception in India that he is a right man, stuck in wrong party.

Amit Rana, President BJYM said that Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ji is the alone Non-Congress leader who is popular among masses and attained unparalleled respect from all quarters of life. All his speeches were mesmerising and pleasing for ears. His words of Confidence when he won the Vote of confidence, or his emotional speech when Jayalalitha withdrew support and his government lost by one vote, his words of anguish during Babri Masjid demolition or his disapproval of Modi during gujarat riots...all will be recorded in the annals of Indian history.
