Chandigarh 13th November:- To foster amongst the students a better understanding of the election process and political system of India,The Department of Political Science, MCM DAV College for Women, Chandigarh organized a day long Fest in its campus. The event was a surfeit of various infatuating activities. The Politico Quiz was a unique quiz to assess and revamp the knowledge and understanding of the political concepts of the participants, while other students showcased their creative skills in the Election Jingles Writing Contest on topics such as 'abki baar', 'Hun din hai badalne' and 'One party majority.' Besides this, a Just a minute extempore session, A photo Caption writing Contest and an essay writing contest on 'The decisive mandate for one party majority' gave the students a platform to exercise their creative talent. An overwhelming number of students from various streams participated in the contest. The winner of the quiz contest were Chavvi-BA-II and Nehmat- BA-I while Nehmat also bagged the first prize for Just a Minute contest. Sumedha's eloquent jingle won her the First Prize for Best Election jingle while the photo caption penned down by Noordeep Kaur, B.A.-I became the first prize winner for the Photo caption writing contest.
The Principal of the college, Dr. Puneet Bedi applauded this endeavour and motivated the students to make the most of such innovative learning experiences.
