CME Cum Workshop Organise on “Advances in TTI Testing”

Chandigarh 15th October:- A pre conference CME-cum-Workshop on "Advances in TTI Testing" was organized by the Deptt. of Transfusion Medicine,  PGI, Chandigarh today on the occasion of 39th Annual Conference of Indian Society of Blood Transfusion & Immunohaematology.  More than 100 delegates from all over India attended the CME-cum-Workshop.  Eminent guest faculty in the speciality were invited on this occasion Dr. R.N.Makroo, pioneer in NAT testing in India, talked about journey of ID NAT in India.  Dr. Naveen Agnihotri from Fortis Hospital, New Delhi  deliberated on "Understanding infectious window periods for TTI. Prof. Neelam Marwaha, Head, Deptt. of Transfusion Medicine, PGI, Chandigarh, Dr. Neeraj Sharma from Govt.Medical College, Amritsar, Dr. M.L.Kaushal from IGMC, Shimla and Dr. Ravneet Kaur from GMCH, Chandigarh chaired various scientific sessions.  Dr. Suchet Sachdev and Dr. Rekha Hans deliberated widely on 'Quality issues in ELISA Testing' and NAT yields in India and implementation in blood safety' respectively.  Dr. R.R.Sharma, Addl. Professor from Deptt. of Transfusion Medicine, PGI, Chandigarh moderated a 'Panel discussion and interactive session' and important interaction was done from amongst the delegates.  Dr. Ajay Duseja from Hepatology Deptt., PGI highlighted the risk of HBV and HCV in community and its relation to blood transfusion.
