Mohali 23rd June:-- The Holy Wonders Smart School organised an Inter-School Taekwondo Meet at its campus. Various schools of the tri-city, Anees School, Doon International School, Kendriya Vidhyalay, AKSIPS, Swami Ram Tirath School participated in it .The show opened with spectacular self defence & combat techniques presented by the students of all schools followed by a series of competition amongst different belts of various schools.
The Holy Wonders & Anees School Kharar bagged the top honours. Darshan was winner of under 49kg category (Boys) whereas Abhishek & Jashan bagged under 30kg category (Boys).In addition to that Jyoti & Gurleen were champions of under 25 kg category Girls.
While speaking at the moment Principal Premjeet Grover said that Taekwondo enhance self-esteem by heightening physical and mental powers of children .It builds confidence by encouraging them to succeed and to take control. It develops discipline of body and mind in the tenets and techniques .It improves the capabilities in self-defence.
