​Special Sanitation Campaign To Enhance The Beauty of Banur City: Sidhu

Mohali 26th May:-- A special sanitation campaign will be initiate for Historical town Banur, falling under SAS Nagar district. In this campaign proper cleanliness of roads, management of waste water & drains will be ensured to minimise the damage during monsoons & to avoid breeding of flies & mosquitoes during rains. These directions were given by Deputy Commissioner Tejinder Pal Singh Sidhu while he was addressing a meeting with officers of Municipal Council Banur at District Administrative Complex.

Tejinder Pal Singh Sidhu directed the officers of Municipal Council for laying premix within a week on main road approaching towards grain market. The estimated cost for this road is Rs. 47 lacs & Rs. 34 lacs have been spent for the same so far. Deputy Commissioner also directed for repair & renovation work of other roads inside Grain market and also directed to ensure proper cleanliness so that the farmers could not face any problem. Tejinder Pal Singh Sidhu said that illegal encroachments will not be accepted at any cost. He directed the officers concerned to take appropriate action against the persons for illegal encroachments and report the same within 24 hrs.

Tejinder Pal Singh Sidhu directed the officials to enhance the beauty of Municipal Park situated within the city, so that the residents of the Banur city could be benefitted. He directed the officers to install musical fountains at there. Sh. Sidhu said that Rs. 4 crore 13 lacs were spent during last year for development works of Banur city.

 It is worth mentioning at here that with endless efforts of Deputy Commissioner, the new Bus stand of Banur gets operational and due to this, approximate Rs. 8000/- per day got added in the daily income of Municipal Council. Tejinder Pal Singh Sidhu said that for showrooms near bus stand, proper land will be allotted, which in turn will increase the income of Municipal Council. Deputy Commissioner directed the officers present to work with dedication & also said that he in person will inspect the progress of development works after 15 days.
