Chandigarh 24th May: -- Institute of Interior & Fashion Technology - IIAFT -Mohali and CHD CITI Centre, Zirakpur presented "LAVANYA 2014" the Institute's Annual Show in The Altius Boutique Hotel , Chandigarh . The Chief Guest for the show was N K Sharma , Chief Parliamentary Secretary (CPS), Govt. of Punjab. The students of MBA, BSC / BBA in Fashion designing, Interior designing , AMM and GMT, courses showcased their creativity by designing awesome collections for their Fashion Show, "LAVANYA 2014"
Giving details of the show Kawaljeet Singh, Director of IIAFT-Mohali said, that students were given a choice of themes to design their collections. These were Elegant Mayuri, Adortic Blush, Almarine, Nazaakat and Paperina. The collections have been designed beautifully keeping in mind the fashion forecast of the coming year and the latest trends according to the taste of modern generation , using fabrics like – Shimmer , Crepe, Satin, Self Net, Georgette, Chiffon, Silk , Velvet , etc. Surface Ornamentation is given with Embroidery in semi precious stones, sequins, Laces and Ribbons etc.
The young designers who showcased their talent and their chosen themes were: Adortic Blush by Deeksha, Almarine by Shewta Pathania, Elegant Mayuri by Abhimanyu, Nazaakat by Daljeet Kaur Virk and Paperina by Kusum, Amana, Simranjit, Poorva, Shilpa, Silky and Sukhwinder Kaur. A total number of 60 dresses were presented by International model, Super model and Fashion Week models like, Katrina, Ruby, Sasha, Alexandra, Aastha , Yoshiki and many more.
Apart from Foreign Models the other USP of event was that the music played out during different rounds was by DJ Rafcy, who is a celebrity music provider and has done the score for Saif Ali Khan-Kareena wedding reception and parties of celebrities like Shilpa Shetty & Shah Rukh Khan.
