Chandigarh 09th May:-- Haryana Government has raised the retirement age of anganwadi workers and helpers from 60 to 65 years.While stating this here today, a spokesman of Women and Child Development Department said that this decision would benefit over 51,400 workers and helpers associated with 25,962 anganwadi centres across the state. He said that all the anganwadi workers and helpers, after 60 years of work, would have to submit fitness certificate issued by District Medical Board headed by Civil Surgeon. He said that government had also increased the honorarium of anganwadi workers from Rs.5000 to Rs.7500 per month and that of anganwadi helpers from Rs.2500 to Rs.3500 per month. Similarly, the honorarium of mini anganwadi worker had been increased from Rs.3250 to Rs.4000 per month.
