Jhanjeri College B.Tech Students captured 8 positions in PTU Exams

Mohali 13th March:-- The first year B.Tech students of Chandigarh Group of Colleges (CGC), Jhanjeri, Mohali captured maximum number of positions in the Merit Lists of PTU result. The PTU issued a Merit List consisting of 10 toppers of the University in each of the Physics & Chemistry Groups of B.Tech 1st year including all disciplines of engineering. Students of Jhanjeri have bagged eight positions, which is the highest number in the state.

The students to bring this honour are Shreya Papneja of CSE securing Second position in University with 88.13% marks, Sachin Sharma of Mech. Engg. (3rd position, 88.67%), Yogesh of Mech. Engg with 88% and Nikita Chaman of CSE with 85.3% (both securing fifth position) Shubham Khajuria of Mech. Engg. (87.7%, 6th position), Parveen Kaur (85.07% seventh position) Namita Hooda of CSE 84.67% Ninth position and Sahaj Kapoor of CSE securing 10th position with 84.53% marks. The management of CGC awarded a cash prize of Rs. 5000/- to each of these meritorious students and laptop is awared to Shreya Papneja  for securing Second position in University .Other colleges appearing in these lists include BBSBEC, Fatehgarh Sahib (7); CEC, Landran, CGC COE Landran, ACET ASR, GVIET, Banur (2 each), MIMIT Malout, RBIET, Kharar, BFCET Bathinda AIET, Faridkot, GIET Khanna & DAV IET Jalandhar (1 each).

While speaking on the occasion, S. Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, President, CGC said that we believe in quality education not in quantity. Dr. G.D. Bansal, Director General, CGC said that this is the result of the dedicated efforts made by the teachers & students of Jhanjeri. He further revealed that free extra coaching classes were also arranged for the students to sharpen their caliber.
