Shemrock School, Celebrate Basant Panchami Also Organised Kite Flying Competition

Mohali 04th February:-- Shemrock Senior Secondary School celebrated Basant Panchami with great zeal and fervour. Rotary Club Shivalik, Chandigarh, organized a Kite Flying Competition in the school. 180 students participated in two categories; first, from classes 6 to8 and second, from classes9 to 11. Children flew colourful kites and enjoyed tradition of Punjab. Cultural program was also organised at the moment .Children also sang beautiful songs of Basant Panchmi.

While speaking at the moment Principal Air Com.(Retd.) S.K.Sharma Said that It is believed that on this day goddess Saraswati, the goddess of knowledge,arts & wisdom  was born  and yellow colour is related to the bloom of mustard flowers , whereas  Saraswati is also worshiped in a yellow dress, and sweet saffron rice are cocked on this day. He further informed that spring is said to be the most beautiful season amongst the all

There were two rounds of flying kite contests which  made it more exciting  & the  winner of the competition were awarded prizes by the Principal Sharma .
