CMC Expands Its Education Network in Mohali

Mohali 25^th February:-- CMC Academy, IT education arm of CMC Ltd., launched an Authorised Training Centre at Mohali, as a part of its initiative to make large number of youth employable by providing Job Enabled Training. The announcement of setting up of CMC was made today by Anant Laha, Regional Head, CMC Ltd at a press conference which was attended by bigs wigs of IT, Corporate world and Punjab Technical University. Prominent among those present were Mr. Navdeepak Sandhu, Placement officer, PTU, Kapil Chopra, CEO, Intelgain Technologies Pvt. Ltd & Co Founder Research Bytes, Rupinder Sachdev, Co Chairman, PHDCCI and Vishal Kataria, Director CMC Academy, Mohali.

While interacting with media Anant Laha said, that the CMC Academy has been started at Mohali which will provide an opportunity to B.Tech/BE, MCA, BCA, Diploma, Graduates and even 10+ 2 pass students to enhance their skills and get practical knowledge through IT trainings. This is a step forward in CMC's continued drive to focus on enhancing job opportunities to trained human resource as well as consolidating its dominant position in India, while expanding its reach globally.” As many as 15 training and placement officers from colleges across Punjab, Haryana and Himachal were present during the inauguration of the state-of-the-art centre.  He added that CMC Academy, Mohali, will offer flagship programmes like CMC GRAD in Software Engineering and IT Infrastructure Management; CMC EDGE, Advance Diploma for Engineering Graduates; and a host of entry-level and high-end short term course for professionals; DBF – Diploma in Banking & Finance for graduates and several other programmes for graduates, as well as students in high school. Training duration will vary from a month up-to 2 years depending on the candidates & technology.  A faculty of practicing project managers will provide solid grounding in fundamental concepts. Ample practice on real-time projects will make the student productive in a job from day one. CMC has been one of the pioneers of IT training in India and offers a wide range of programmes for beginners and for career advancement.

Navdeepak Sandhu, Placement officer, PTU said that 50% to 55% alumni coming out of PTU affiliated colleges find placement in Industry and other organizations. I am very happy that CMC Academy has been set up at Mohali as earlier young job seekers had to go to the Delhi to enhance their skills.” says Mr. Rupinder Sachdeva, Co Chairman, PHDCCI, “Industry by and large had not been happy with the product coming into the industry from the institutions and colleges as there was a gap between what we require and the training received in college. I am hopeful that a step in the direction of generating employability had been taken with the advent of CMC.
