U.T & MC Employees Hold Massive Dharna

Chandigarh 16th January: -- Thousands of Employees & workers of various departments of of UT & MC Chandigarh today held a massive Dharna in front of Cricket Stadium Chandigarh. The Dharna was held in support of long pending genuine demands of the employees & also against the negative attitude of the Chandigarh Administration towards demands. About 2000 employee of various departments of UT & MC constricting 1 ½ dozen departmental unions including electricity, water supply, transport, road, horticulture, maintenance, health, B.D.P.O, ICCW, air-condition, electrical, sewerage and other departments of U.T. & MC. Participated in the Dharna in a massive way. Large numbers of female employees also participate in the Dharna.

The Dharna was addressed by Raghbir Chand Convener, Rajinder Katoch and Bishram Co-Convener, Bal Kishan, Bhim Sen, Harkesh Chand, Subramaniam, P. Kamraj, Ravi Chander, Shamsher Singh, Chain Singh, Amrik Singh, Piara Singh, Prem Pal, Bihari Lal, Rekha Sharma, Tek Chand, Om Kailash, Jora Singh & Pardeep Kumar beside other leaders of co-ordination committee.

While addressing the Dhana the leaders while criticizing the Chandigarh Administration for its negative and adamant attitude the towards the long pending and genuine demands of the U.T. and M.C. Employees and strongly demanded to regularize the services of Daily wages and work charge worker who are working since 20-25 years, implementation of EPF, ESI and Pension scheme to them, offer of appointment to the next kin of deceased employees by scrapping 5 per cent ceiling, filling up the vacant post lying vacant in all the departments, scrapping of privatization / corporatization of  Govt. and Semi-Govt. Department and abolish of contract system and out sourcing, Rs. 6950 + basic pay to all the class four employees including daily wagers, allotment of flats to all the Employees under UT Employees self financing  housing scheme 2008, providing uniform, LTA to all class three field staff besides implementation of the  demands.
