Chandigarh 28th January:-- An Assistant Professor in the Department of Orthopaedics, PGI Dr Sarvdeep Singh Dhatt, has brought laurels to the Institute at the recently concluded conference of Association of Spine Surgeons of India held at Kolkata. He was awarded the prestigious "ASSI - Dartmouth Spine Fellowship" for the year 2014 after being selected on guidelines based on his contribution to spine surgery. It is a very prestigious award and he shall be visiting the famous Ivy League college at Hannover, New Hampshire USA and training under Prof Dilip Sengupta for advanced spinal surgery.
Dr Dhatt has two patents as well as over fifty publications to his name and specializes in the field of complex spine surgery. He has done many international fellowships from many places such as Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center NY USA, Stanford University Hospital, USA, Tohoku University Hospital, Sendai Japan, Queen Mary and Duchess of Kent Hospitals, University of Hong Kong, Kings College Hospital, London UK and the University of Wales, Cardiff UK to name a few. He is currently involved with Spine Tango, a spine registry database of the Department of Orthopaedics in collaboration with the Eurospine Society.
