Asha Jyoti Women’s Mobile Health Outreach Programe Do 4054 Screening in Several Camps

Chandigarh 21st January:-- The most common cancer in women naming Breast Cancer & Cervical Cancer and in additional screening for osteoporosis in a population based screening program was organized by Asha Jyoti Women's Mobile Health Outreach Programe .  This program is running in collaboration with RAD-AID International, an US based nonprofit organization and Phillips healthcare.

According to the officials of programme this program is started last year on 12 May  with Pre Pilot Phase in PGI till 10 June 2012. From 11th June 2012 to till date it is going three days in a week at poly clinic Sector 45 Chandigarh to screening the population of Village Burail, Sector 45 Chandigarh & colony number 5. This population includes all three Rural, Urban   and Slum population.  Recently from 14 Nov 2013 it is also going in Sector 38. Gurudwara to screen the women of Sector 38.  The Van is equipped with digital mammography for breast cancer screening video colposcopy of cervical cancer screening and DEXA Scan for osteoporosis. During One & Half years different camps held for screening in and around Chandigarh through the year. Total number of screening done is approx 4054 till date including several camps. Recently it is awarded as "Champion of Action" by Clinton Global Association in 2013. It is got an invitation from the embassy of kingdom of the Netherland for show casing the Asha Jyoti Van before the Netherlands Minister of health at Embassy of Netherland, New Delhi on 30th January 2014.
