Chandigarh 20th November:--- The Medical Committee of MCM College, today organised a free health check-up camp for its students as well as teaching and non-teaching staff. The camp was organised in collaboration with Fortis Hospital, Mohali. Principal of the college, Dr. Puneet Bedi inaugurated the camp. Another highlight of the camp was the organ donation registration drive organised in collaboration with PGIMER. Under this drive, the Medical Committee of the college sensitised the students and faculty members as to the need for volunteering for organ donation and gift someone a new life. The spirit of helping mankind was apparent at the camp as many as 45 students registered for the organ donation
The camp witnessed a huge turn out as students queued up to avail and benefit from the various facilities provided during the camp. The panel of doctors visiting the campus comprised of Dr. Tarandeep Gill, Orthopaedician, Dr. Parminder Sethi, Gynaecologist, Dr. Raghav, General Physician and Dr. Ruby, Optometrist of Fortis Hospital, and Dr. Monika Mittal, Skin Specialist. The facilities offered at the camp included Bone Mineral Density, blood sugar, body mass index, eye check-up, skin analysis, ECG, BP and vitals. Besides providing free consultation, the team of doctors also gave useful tips for healthy living and stressed upon the importance of balanced diet, regular exercise and adequate sleep.
