Gurukul Vidyapeeth join hands with Traffic Police to create traffic awareness in the city people

Chandigarh 22nd October: --- To make the city roads safer and to motivate city people especially Women Two wheeler Drivers for obeying traffic rules Gurukul Vidyapeeth Institute of Engg. & Technology Ramnagar today conducted a traffic (Helmet) awareness campaign in association with Mohali Traffic Police on the occasion of Karwa Chauth. As many as 225 students along with Banners & Playcards participated in this campaign. The Campaign was held at city's busy traffic junctions i.e. phase 7 and phase 3-5 light points. The students gave gifts to women drivers, who were wearing helmets. Also, women not wearing helmets were given brochures highlighting the need of safe driving and presented free helmets to them.

 

CA Manmohan Kumar Garg, Chairman cum CEO, Gurukul Vidyapeeth, said, that the purpose of this campaign is to spread message on this day when women fast for long life of their husbands that long life of our women is equally important and utmost care must be taken to save it.He also aplauded the city traffic police for their sincere efforts for making the city roads safe.  He also apealed the people of the city to cooperate with the administration for its projects for the betterment of the city. He further stated that it's the consecutive fourth year that we have undertaken such an initiative of traffic awareness for women. He further said, "A total of 4000 brochures and Rose Sticks were distributed during this campaign". Pillion riders wearing no helmets were also covered,

 

Ramanjeet Singh Additional Director Academics & Personal, Gurukul Vidyapeeth thanks the Traffic Police for supporting the projects undertaken by Gurukul Vidyapeeth under its Corporate Social Responsibility. "We all must understand our responsibilities towards this society and make this earth a better place to live" He stated.
