iSEED Announces iCUBE Contest on Entrepreneurship:Over 500 colleges from Across The Country Participating

Chandigarh 19th September:-- iSEED - the Indian School for Entrepreneurship and Enterprise Development, is offering India's first full time 1-year post-graduate level program in Entrepreneurship. iSEED today rolled out one of the largest National Youth Ideas ChallengeiCUBE contest in Chandigarh and announced tie-ups with several leading colleges of Chandigarh and the rest of the region to encourage the spirit of entrepreneurship amongst the youth.

 

According to Sanjeeva Shivesh, said that Punjab and Haryana have been leaders in innovation and entrepreneurship and iSEED expects that the indomitable spirit of the youth of the region will come out in true colors at the National Youth Ideas Challenge. Chandigarh especially is also regarded as a key educational hub of north India with more than two lakh students from across the country. It has also emerged among the top 3 best cities of India ranking first in terms of investment opportunities. As such, we've identified the city as a key centre for promoting the spirit of entrepreneurship among the youth. He added that Entrepreneurship education in our country has been largely undertaken as a token exercise in MBA colleges. We at iSEED are working actively with angel investors, entrepreneurs and industry experts to create a unique learning experience for students coupled with seed capital funding opportunities for in-house entrepreneurial opportunities as we believe that if India has to prosper, it has to create a culture of entrepreneurship and innovation by engaging with youth. The iSEED National Youth Ideas Challenge iCUBE with its objective to spark creativity, foster innovation and showcase inventions of college students from across India is a step forward in this direction.

 

The first stage of the month long iSEED Youth Idea Challenge iCUBE involves submission of ideas by students individually or in teams in an Idea Box kept in their respective college premises. As many as 500 ideas nationally will be selected by a panel of experts comprising of entrepreneurs, innovators, investors, mentors and academia for the next round and will be rewarded with certificates and prizes. The top 50 ideas will be further shortlisted through interviews for the final round of Mentoring Program post which the selected teams will compete in a Rapid Product / Service Prototyping and presentations over 2 days. The three winning entries will win cash prizes worth Rs. 2 lakh. Over 50 scholarships as well as one week and six month mentoring programs at iSEED alongwith funding opportunities will also be presented to shortlisted entries.

 

The month long contest running across 500 colleges of the country will encourage college students to come up with ideas that have the potential to benefit humanity by making the common man's life better, simpler and affordable.
