American Gandhi Bernie Meyer spreads Peace message through balloons

Chandigarh 25th September:---- An American and Gandhi Bernie Meyer who dresses, walks, talks and practices what father of the nation Mahatma Gandhi preached and who is regularly coming for last five years in the annual International Youth Peace Fest of Yuvsatta-an NGO & Oxfam-India, reached today the host college of this year's 8thInternational Youth Peace Fest-the Government Post Graduate College, Sector 11, Chandigarh to motivate and inspire the young volunteers of College and Yuvsatta who're working 24X7 for last two months to put up a grand show and good image of India during the upcoming six day mega event, from September 27 to October 2, 2013.

Bernie Meyer sent in the air hot-air balloons tagged with messages of World Peace. On the occasion he was joined by another peace activist Mr. Larry Kerschner- a Vietnam war veteran, Nairus-a belle dancer from Venzuella, Dr. JS Raghu the College Principal, JS Cheema, President of Alumini Association of the College, TRK Somaiya, Secretary, Bombay Sarvodaya Mandal, Laxman Gole-who was a history-sheeter in the past and now influenced by autobiography of Gandhiji is promoting the ideals of Gandhi in the society.

Giving information about the initiative Pramod Sharma, Coordinator, Yuvsatta said,  it's a big challenge to host the event, obtain visas for friends from different parts of the globe, raise resources to manage the show, but this year the partners of Peace Fest like Post Graduate Government College, Sector 11, Chandigarh, Alumni Association of the College, Oxfam India, NZCC, State Cell of NSS, KB DAV Sr. Sec. School, Gurukul Global School, Friends of China Society, Environment Department, Science & Technology, Forest Department of Chandigarh Administration had all contributed a lot to make it happen. Dr. JS Raghu, Principal added that by participation of young people in such peaceful activities they expect these young change makers to become true global citizens in thinking and action and co-create a future equal to their vast potential. The event is also supported by Prakash Foundation.
