Chandigarh 13th August:- Haryana Governor Jagannath Pahadia today exhorted the litterateurs and Acharyas to continue guiding the society thorough their intellectual and spiritual knowledge and thus develop a more civilized and cultured society. Jagannath Pahadia was speaking in the Sahityakar Samman Samoroh organized by the Haryana Sanskrit Academy at Haryana Raj Bhawan here today. On this occasion Jagannath Pahadia gave cash awards of Rs. 18.34 lakh to 31 litterateurs and Acharyas of Sanskrit for their outstanding contribution to further enrich Sanskrit literature and language. The awards were presented for the year 2010, 2011 and 2012.
Jagannath Pahadia said that literature, irrespective of its language, is a priceless heritage of any Nation. While describing literature as the mirror of the society, Jagannath Pahadia said that litterateurs and Acharyas could show a right path to the society. Through their writings, they have the power to transform the thinking in a positive manner and change the mindset of the people, he added. The Governor said that India has a deep rooted culture and to maintain this culture, Sanskrit language has played a significant role. He said that not only Indians, but the western scholars have also carried our extensive research work on the Sanskrit literature. He said that on the basis of verbs in Sanskrit language, there were more than eight lakh words in the Sanskrit Glosssary whereas no other language in the world has so much of word strength. He expressed concern that scientific development in the world has made the lives of people easier. However, the danger of devastation of human civilization was emerging rapidly. In such a situation, learning and reading Sanskrit language is able to give right direction to the society, he further added. Lauding the role of Sanskrit Academy, Jagannath Pahdia said that the Academy has been rendering yeomen services for the promotion and dissemination of Sanskrit language. He said that today Haryana is one of leading State in the country with regard to development and prosperity. Under the able leadership of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupinder Singh Hooda, all round development has been ensured in the State. He said that Haryana is known especially for communal harmony, literature and cultural heritage and it is a matter of pride that the creator of Purans Maharishi Ved Vyas and Mahakavi Banbhat also belonged to the this pious land .
Speaking on the occasion, Minister of State for Information, Public Relations and Cultural Affairs Department Shiv Charan Lal Sharma said that the ancient and pious land of Haryana has established a unique place in the country for its great culture and literary significance. He said that the present State Government under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda was giving highest priority for building a literary and cultural environment in the State. He said that with a view to encourage the literatures various awards have been started. Acharya Samman was given to the Acharyas serving in Gurukuls and Sanskrit Pathshalas for their outstanding contribution in the promotion of Sanskrit language.
Those who were honoured on this occasion for the year 2010 included Dr.Rameshwar Dutt Sharma from Bhiwani with Haryana Sanskrit Gaurav Award, Dr. Sudhikant Bharadwaj from Delhi with Maharishi Valmiki Award, Dr. Kamla Bhardwaj from Delhi with Banbhatt Award, Dr. Dharamvir Kundu from Rohtak with Maharishi Vedvyas Award, Swami Charan Sharma from Pataudi with Guru Virjanand Acharya Award and Surender Kumar Pant from Bhiwani with Vidhyamartand Pandit Sitaram Shastri Acharya Award. Similarly, Smt. Pramod Sharma from Kurukshetra was honoured with Pandit Yudhistermimansak Acharya Award, Reshmanand Shastri from Ambala with Vyovridh Sanskritsewi Award and Dr. Mahavir Prasad Sharma and Dr.Jaidrath Sharma both from Karnal with book price for the year 2010. For the year 2011, Dr. Ram Gopal from Chandigarh was honoured with Haryana Sanskrit Gaurav Award, Dr. Ishwar Chander Sharma from Bhiwani with Maharishi Valmiki Award, Dr. Hari Singh Shastri from Gurgaon with Maharishi Vedvyas Award, Dr. Ashutosh Aangirash from Ambala with Maharishi Banbhatt Award, Acharya Vijaypal from Jhajjar with Guru Virjanand Acharya Award and Acharya Ranvir Singh from Samalkha with Vidhyamartand Pandit Sitaram Shastri Acharya Award. Similarly, Acharya Pradhyuman Shastri from Narnaul was honoured with Pandit Yudhistermimansak Acharya Award and Acharya Dharamvir Kundu from Rohtak with book price for the year 2011. Likewise, Dr. Ramdutt Sharma from Delhi was honoured with Haryana Sanskrit Gaurav Award, Dr.Sipra Banarjee from Ambala with Maharishi Valmiki Award, Dr.Mathura Dutt Pandey from Panchkula with Maharishi Vedvyas Award, Dr.Satyapal Sharma from Karnal with Banbhatt Award, Acharya Pradeep Kumar from Karnal with Guru Virjanand Acharya Award and Dr.Raj Kishore Shastri from Yamuna Nagar with Vidhyamartand Pandit Sitaram Shastri Acharya Award. Similarly, Acharya Hari Singh from Fatehabad was honoured with Pandit Yudhistermimansak Acharya Award, Swami Pranwanand from Faridabad with Swami Dharamdev Sanskrit Samaradhak Award, Madan Gopal Shastri with Vyovridh Sanskritsewi Award and Mithilesh Sharma from Hisar, Dr. Satyapal Sharma and Smt.Anju Sharma from Karnal and Dr. Hari Prakash Sharma from Yamuna Nagar were honoured with book price for the year 2012
