138 Stray Cattle Impounded on 3rd Day of Stray Cattle Catching Drive

Chandigarh, 26^th August:----Municipal Corporation Chandigarh has carried out a special Stray Cattle Catching Drive today and impounded 138 stray cattle from Municipal limits of Chandigarh including Dadu Majra, Dadumajra Colony, Ramdarbar, Hallomajra, Kajheri, Airport Chowk and Colony No. 5. During the drive around 140 persons from Municipal Corporation including staff of Medical Officer of Health, Enforcement and road wing alongwith nearly 80 policemen carried out this drive and impounded 138 cattle.  During three days of drive against stray cattle the Municipal Corporation has impounded a total of 393 cattle

These cattle impounded will not be released as keeping of animals within the Municipal Limits is not permissible. The report against the owners of these cattle will be lodged with the police under which there is a provision of imprisonment also.
