Public holiday in Punjab on July 3 due to Panchayat Elections:All Banks and Industrial establishments to be closed

Chandigarh 01^st July:--The Punjab Government has declared public holiday on July 3 to enable employees to exercise franchise in Panchayat Elections on that day.

The Public holiday has been declared in all Punjab government offices, Boards, Corps. and educational institutions of Punjab located in Punjab and Chandigarh.The holiday has also been declared under section 25 of Negotiable Instrument Act 1881.

It is worthwhile to mention that the holiday orders will also be enforced for Banks and Industrial and labour establishments.
