Chandigarh, 05th July:--Municipal Corporation Chandigarh held Stray Cattle Catching Drives and 548 stray cattle were impounded from the Municipal limits of Chandigarh during April to June, 2013. However, 659 cattle have been shifted to various Gaushalas to decongest the overcrowded Cattle Pound.
According to Municipal Corporation, Chandigarh Commissioner, V.P.Singh, MC has formed four teams under the supervision of Rajiv Gupta, Joint Commissioner, for catching the cattle roaming on roads throughout day and night.Rajiv Gupta will be assisted by Dr. M.S. Kamboj, Superintendent Slaughter House, MCC.
