Haryana Urdu Academy would honour 19 litterateurs for their outstanding contribution to enrich Urdu language and literature

Chandigarh 19th June:--Haryana Urdu Academy would honour 19 litterateurs for their outstanding contribution to further enrich Urdu language and literature in a 'Sahityakar Samman Samaroh' to be organized by the Academy at Haryana Raj Bhawan here on June 24, 2013. The Academy would also honour six writers of Urdu on completion of 75 years of their age and for doing commendable work.

       

While giving this information here today, Additional Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Dr. K.K. Khandelwal, who is also the Executive Vice-Chairman of the Academy, said that Haryana Governor Mr. Jagannath Pahadia would be the Chief Guest on this occasion whereas Chief Minister Mr.Bhupinder Singh Hooda would preside over the function. Education Minister Mrs. Geeta Bhukkal and Minister of State for Information,Public Relations and Cultural Affairs Department Pt. Shiv  Charan Lal Sharma would be guest of honour.  

       

He said that Fakhre Haryana Award carrying Rs. 1.5 lakh in cash would be conferred upon each Dr.Naresh and Mr.Kashmiri Lal  Zakir,whereas, Hali Award with a cash prize of Rs. 1.21 lakh would be given away to Dr. Shakeel-ur-Rehman.  Kanwar Mohinder Singh Bedi Socio- Culture Achievement Award of Rs. 25,000 would be given away to Dr. Kumar Panipati. Similarly, Sabir Dutt Award for social uplift of women carrying cash prize of Rs. 25,000 would be given away to Dr. Raunaque Zaidi, Sayed Muzaffar Husain Burney Award for Urdu Poetry and Khawaja Ahmed Abbas Award for Urdu Prose carrying cash prize of Rs. 25,000 each would be given away to Dr K.K. Rishi and Dr. Qamar-ud-Din Zakir. He said that Munshi Gumani Lal Award for Urdu Fiction and Surinder Pandit Soz Award for promotion of Urdu in Ambala or its surrounding areas, carrying cash prize of Rs. 21,000 each, would be conferred upon Dr. Nazima Jabeen and Mr. Maikash Ambalvi.

       

Dr. Khandelwal said that Urdu Journalism Award carrying cash prize of Rs. 21,000 each would be given away to Mr. Narain Das Khusdil and Dr. Sultan Anjum whereas, Urdu Translation Award carrying Rs. 21,000 in cash would be given away to Dr. Rajwanit Maan. He said that Jafat Zattali Award, Award for the contribution in Persian Literature and Ghazal Singing Award carrying cash prize of Rs. 21,000 each would be conferred upon Mr. T.N Raz, Prof. Chander Shekhar and Mr. Vinod Sehgal respectively. The  Theater Award, award for outsider writers who are   doing work in Urdu related to Haryana and award for the promotion of scientific temper in Urdu Literature carrying cash prize of Rs. 21,000 would be given away to Mr. Parveen Sethi, Prof. S.R. Kidwai and Dr. Anis-ul-Hasan Siddiqui.

        He said that Special Award for contribution in Urdu Literature carrying Rs. 51,000 would be conferred upon Mr. Amar Sahni .

        Among the scholars writer, critics and poets  in Urdu who are more than 75 years of age, namely Mr. H.S. Sinha 'Nazim', Mr. Roop Narain Chandna, Mr. Amar Nath Wadhera, Dr. Deepak Tandon, Mr. T.R Joshi and Mr. O.P. Pawar would be honoured with a cash prize of Rs. 2100 each.
