Desh Bhagat Hospital Successfully Conducted Hysterectomy

Chandigarh June 22, 2021:-A team of Doctors at Desh Bhagat Hospital have successfully Conducted a Hysterectomy (Uterus Removal) of a 46yr woman suffering from Multiple Fibroid in the Uterus. Congratulating the team on this success Dr.Zora Singh (Chancellor Desh Bhagat University) said that it is the collective efforts and hard work of the team. 

Giving details about the case spokesperson of the hospital said that A woman from Sant Nagar Mandi Gobindgarh was diagnosed with a gross mass / Fibroid of size 14.35 cm x 14.35 cm in the body of the Uterus. Dr. Baljit Singh (CMO Desh Bhagat Hospital) & Dr. Dharmendra Soni (General Surgeon at Desh Bhagat Hospital) said that the patient had complaints of abdominal pain, Heavy Menstrual Bleeding, and Painful menstruation, and other urinary complaints too. Ultrasound showed a gross mass / Fibroid of size 14.35 cm x 14.35 cm in the body of the Uterus and advised the patient that removal of the Uterus/ Hysterectomy was needed to avoid further complications. The surgery took 2hrs and the patient is stable and recovering.

The spokesperson further said that hysterectomy is a surgical procedure that removes the uterus through an incision in the lower abdomen. uterus — or womb — is where a baby grows what a woman is pregnant. A partial hysterectomy removes just the uterus, leaving the cervix intact. A total hysterectomy removes the uterus and the cervix.
