Chandigarh 05th October:- The All India Mid-Amateurs Golf Tournament is held yearly and because there are 4 zones, every year the tournament is on rotation at different venues in esteemed golf courses within India. In 2015, the tournament was held at the prestigious Jaypee Greens Golf Club in Greater Noida finishing on 18th of September with a fantastic representation from Chandigarh Golf Club. In the Mid-Amateur Event(35-55 years age group) H S Kang, Sandeep Singh Sandhu, Darvesh Kumar and Jaspreet Bakshi put up an excellent show. H S Kang finished first Runner-up, Sandeep Singh Sandhu bagging 5th position and Darvesh Kumar finished 7th respectively (3 Top Ten Finishes ). In the All-India Senior (age 55 years and above), Chandigarh was worthily represented by Col SDS Batth and Rakesh Jolly, where Col SDS Batth finished 7th overall and Mann finishing 2nd runners up. It is heartening to see so many golfers from Chandigarh of all ages taking the city on the national map of golf. The greens were playing to almost 10-11 on the stimp meter, and the first cut was kept very high. Considering these conditions these city golfers played extremely well and did us proud.
