Chandigarh, 09th July:- A funky, fun and effervescent experimentation session conducted by the scientists from Ukraine for students of Hallmark Public School, Panchkula. For over 40 minutes students were enthralled by experts from "The laboratory of Crazy Scientists." The lively experimentation was conducted using physical peculiarities of pressure, water, sound and materials like liquid nitrogen, polymers and other secret chemical substances. The session organized at Hallmark proved that boring lab experiments and science lectures are now 'passe' as new learning methodologies like these, will make science fun for students.

According to Ms. Kavita Wadhwa, Principal, Hallmark Public School, Panchkula, "The idea behind holding the session was to develop a scientific temperament among students in a fun manner. Many a times the teaching of science is rigmarole and students lose interest in the subject. We at Hallmark feel that science is best taught outside the classrooms and laboratories in an interactive and interesting way."

The crazy scientists created a tornado using two bottles and a special device. The miracle: the tornado played in the scientists' hands. In 'Thunder generators' it was demonstrated how certain materials can increase the level of sounds to such an extent that it resembles real thunder during the experiment. Kids saw a real djinni from Aladdin, created with help of secret chemical substances. The amazing qualities of polymers were displayed when kids were taught how to make 'slimers' and colorful 'worms'. The experiments using liquid nitrogen were informative and eccentric too – Liquid nitrogen boils at a temperature -196̊ C! This can freeze items to the state of glass. Using this property flowers and fruits were frozen and broken into pieces. It was shown how a kettle boils without fire and how a crazy scientist eats a cookie frozen to the temperature of -196̊C.

A Class VIII student Sarang Kalsi said that We saw with own eyes, frozen gas and inflation of soap bubbles with nitrogen. The demonstration of the 'Big Bang' theory in action was a great learning experience. We also witnessed sitting in our classroom the icy foam that can be observed only on Saturn." The show of crazy scientists was like a magic wand that sparkled excitement and anticipation for science in the eyes of the students. According to Ms Yulia Kay, a crazy scientist, "The special invention of the Lab of Crazy Scientists is the Air cannon, which shoots with the smoky rings of happiness. The Laboratory of crazy scientists is the ONE and ONLY interactive scientific show in India."

Hallmark Public School Director, Jivtesh Garg, said that We aim to deliver high-standard workshops and educational programs for our students. The innovative scientific experiments were chosen as these had the ability to ignite interest for science among students, which ultimately is our endeavour." Hallmark Public School, students' became the first batch of students in India to have witnessed this kind of demo, which showed them the wonders of smart chemistry and physics, in a funny and simple way, in order to ensure interest for these subjects.
